Golden Brother Conducted December EHS Meeting in 2020

Golden Brother conducted its EHS meeting on Dec. 28 (Fri.) to discuss the EHS related issues through video conference with its EHS members.

The subjects discussed were based on the scheduled agenda and cases about fire accident of electric bikes were brought up as one of the critical issues.  It is our hope the risk shall be prevented in advance instead of dealing them afterwards.  Listed below are the key issued went over in December meeting:
1. The following four polices were the key directions in 2020: “zero-tolerance for fire accident”, “zero-tolerance for narcotics”, “zero-tolerance for DWI”, “zero-tolerance for occupational injuries”
2. EHS issues are critical to company survival; hence, no negligence can be allowed.  All EHS members shall look after EHS issues in details to connect the policy and the actual doings so as to remove the risks.
3. The coordinators shall be responsible for the areas assigned and conduct the routine checkups.  Feedbacks for things to be improved or adjusted are one of the responsibilities of the coordinators.
4. The coordinators shall join the LINE group dedicated to the EHS issues to receive the latest messages and understand what’s the latest requests from the company.
5. Items not discussed this time: EHS committee operation procedures, management plans for EHS, and the targets for waste saving shall be reviewed and discussed in next meeting.
6. EHS committee chair Adam Lee shared the five-step of fire door checklist: certification, gaps, seals, hinges, closing properly

After the case briefing from Mr. Liu of Chinchu office, Mr. Yuan of Changhwa office, Mr. Chang of Tainan office, and Mr. Li of Taoyuan office, chairman Lee once again emphasized the high importance of having “zero-tolerance for fire accident” and “zero-tolerance for occupational injuries” policies in position.  The first item is to be responsible to the company and the second one is to be accountable for all employees and migrant workers in dormitories; consequently, all EHS members need to keep high alert for EHS issues instead of treating them in a routine manner.  After concluding the main issues related to EHS in 2020, the EHS meeting ended in a nice way.
