Bánh Chưng Sharing and Paper Cutting Activity at Zhonghe Liancheng Hall

To make the Vietnamese migrant workers feel like celebrating the Lunar Year in Taiwan, Golden Brother’s dormitory management headquarter prepared the Bánh Chưng for all Vietnamese migrant workers in Zhonghe Liancheng Hall on January 30 (Sat.) to enjoy and feel the atmosphere of celebrating New Year at home.  Furthermore, a paper-cutting activity was also held for the workers to experience the traditional Chinese paper-cutting art and those papers are now posted on the door in their dormitory.

There are two kinds of zhuyin in Vietnam: Bánh Tét and Bánh Chưng.  The origin of Bánh Chưng needs to refer to Hong Bang Dynasty, the oldest dynasty in Vietnam history.  At that time, the prince of Lang Lieu presented one round and one square Zhuyin to the King (Hùng Vương) in order to represent the diligence and hard work of his subjects in farming between the heaven and earth.  Afterwards, Bánh Tét and Bánh Chưng became the essential and delicious food in Vietname for the New Year.
