The Ministry of Labor issued an announcement on May 23, 2012, to commence a period of public comments for the draft amendment on partial articles and Appendix 5 of Article 24, Appendix 13 of Article 62, Appendix 13-1 of Article 63 and Appendix 14 of Article 64 of "Review Standards and Employment Qualifications for Foreign Workers Engaging in Work Specified in Subparagraphs 8 to 11, Paragraph 1, Article 46 of the Employment Service Act", which targets The domestic "comprehensive construction industry" (A, B, C, etc.), "specialized construction industry", and "civil engineering contract industry" have newly established standards for applying for foreign migrant workers.

The aforementioned new standards are a solution to the shortage of workers in Taiwan’s construction industry, which should effectively relieve the plight of the construction industry's inability to undertake new projects or complete projects on schedule due to labor shortages.  All construction companies that meet certain conditions (employing the total number of domestic workers and a certain amount of money) can apply for foreign migrant workers.

In order to let friends in the industry and construction industry have a better understanding of how to apply for foreign migrant workers, we specially invited Mr. Xue Jianzhong, the former head of the management team of the Development Agency of the Ministry of Labor, to give a complete explanation on the topic of "the application and employment system for migrant workers in the construction industry" at Sheraton Hotel (Yuhui Hall) located at Zhongxiao East Road in Taipei on June 9 (Friday).  Due to the constrain of the location, only 30 friends are able to attend, and the organizer reserves the right to participate.
