The Ministry of Labor has announced the recognition of the Metal Industry Research and Development Center as a verification organization responsible for the verification of automatic shock prevention devices for AC welding machines.

AC welding machines use a voltage of 60 V to 100 V to weld metal, so if there is a leakage, there is a risk of electric shock to the user!  Therefore, an automatic shock prevention device needs to be installed inside the welding machine to prevent personnel from being electrocuted.  According to CNS4782, the automatic electric shock prevention device for AC arc welding is equipped with a voltage indicator.  The safe voltage should not exceed 25V, and the delay time should be within 1.0 ± 0.3 seconds.

The Metal Center is a government authorized institution that conducts safety verification of equipment for imported and domestically manufactured AC welding machine automatic shock prevention devices.  Therefore, AC welding machines circulating domestically must be verified in advance and obtain safety labels before they can be sold.
